Kansas City, Mo – The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS – Kansas City Chapter is closing by September 30, 2018. DIFFA/KC is proud of its 30 years of fundraising in Kansas City. We began in 1988, with a mission: D.I.F.F.A./KC SUPPORTS THE PREVENTION OF HIV AND AIDS BY FUNDING EDUCATION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMS IN GREATER KANSAS CITY. WE SEEK TO ARREST THE SPREAD OF HIV IN OUR COMMUNITY.

In the past 30 years, we have over 4,500 supporters of the grants we fund. Beginning in 1992, we pooled our financial resources with other local and national funders, awarding grants as part of the Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership (HACAP). Together we have provided over 340 grants, worth over $5 million to over 70 nonprofit organizations in the greater Kansas City area.

In August 2018, DIFFA/KC contributed $40,000 to HACAP. This will contribute to funding grants in the 2018/2019 year.

Awarding Grants In Kansas City

DIFFA KC’s commitment has helped the Partnership distribute grants AIDS causes in Kansas City. Working directly with the Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership, DIFFA KC identifies area programs that fulfill the organization’s mission of education and prevention – the only means we have now to eliminate this disease. Based on the program’s specific plans and needs, the Partnership awards grant money where it will be most effective in helping people in Kansas City at the greatest risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.
