30 Years of DIFFA in Kansas City

The Design Industries Foundation Fighting A.I.D.S. – Kansas City Chapter is proud of its 30 years of fundraising in Kansas City. We began in 1988, with a mission.

D.I.F.F.A./KC SUPPORTS THE PREVENTION OF HIV AND AIDS BY FUNDING EDUCATION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMS IN GREATER KANSAS CITY. WE SEEK TO ARREST THE SPREAD OF HIV IN OUR COMMUNITY.

In the past 30 years, we have made over 4,500 friends who have attended events and supported the grants we fund. Beginning in 1992, we pooled our financial resources with other local and national funders, awarding grants as part of the Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership (HACAP). Together we have provided over 340 grants, worth over $5 million to over 70 nonprofit organizations in the greater Kansas City area.

Kansas City is one of the nation’s most giving communities, with one of the highest number of nonprofits per capita. We respect this, but we also recognize this impacts our fundraising efforts. In May, we had a successful fundraiser, raising $25,000 for grants. Once combined with funds from other events this past year, DIFFA/KC has recently contributed $40,000 to HACAP this year! This will contribute to funding grants in the 2018/2019 year.

The DIFFA/KC board has recently announced their decision to make this, our 30th year, our final. In lieu of your support to DIFFA/KC, we invite you to learn more about our national organization, DIFFA, located in New York.

We are blessed to have your support and your friendship for the last three decades.

Sincerely,

The DIFFA/KC Board
